Definitely 2nd Crazy Burger - amazing for any meal, but we especially love the breakfast. Only downside is that it's small and the waits can be long unless you get there early. It's also very funky/casual, so I don't know if it would fall into your "but nice" category.

If you are looking for something kid-friendly but nevertheless an "adult" restaurant, Trio's is a good option. There is also a Red Stripe in Narragansett.

Have to second Crazy Burger. Never had a bad meal. But the lack of AC makes it less appealing on a hot day. I used to love Spain but I think it's gotten downright terrible. Unless it's improved again? I last went about 4-5 yrs ago, and the paella was just horrid. If you can't cook white rice properly, I'm not coming back to your restaurant. period.
