The Table d'Eugene in the 18th - new news!

  • 6

For those who think the Table d'Eugene is a neat bistro, relatively undiscovered by the hoards (read the New York Times readers), but who have had trouble getting in, my favorite neighborhood bio/naturale/etc wine merchant let loose today that they would be opening a larger annexe ASAP. On attend.

  1. One hopes they don't lose the touch/focus/integrity/excellence they now have.

ITA, Mangeur. I adore this bistro and feel so lucky that it's in my 'hood. I hope they aren't planning on leaving the 18th arr!

"Annexe" suggests a supplemental venue nearby rather than a bigger place elsewhere. Only my admiration and respect for the chef makes me feel good (read: not hysterical) about any change or expansion.

No no no. It'll be nearby. I've got the space picked out already.

Looks like you need to do another round of persuasion with them, as I had lunch there on the 26th and the maitre d' said they hadn't yet picked out the space. He also said the new location wouldn't open until next year. In any event, like mangeur, I hope this development doesn't rock the boat, as two meals here have been enough to make this one of my favorite restaurants!

Ha, I have no influence. My info comes from my neighborhood bio-naturale-etc. wine guy who probably supplies them.
