Diners Recommendations Atlantic City to Asbury Park

  • 4

I'm a sucker for diners and it looks like New Jersey is famous for its diners so I've gotta try at least one of them when I'm up there for 4th of July weekend. I will be staying in Long Beach Island but will be travelling one day to Asbury Park and one day to Atlantic City. Any recommendations for old fashioned diners in between these two areas? Cheap is good too - i.e. sandwiches should not cost more than $8 each. Breakfast entrees should not cost more than $6-7. Please advise on any possible holiday closures as well. Thanks!

  1. LBI has Mustache Bill's in Barnegat Light. It's a better diner than you'll find in AP. There, however, you might try Frank's which is diner like in some ways (think house made corned beef hash), but certainly not a diner.

    1. At exit 74/Forked River on Lacey Road is the Colonial Diner. Good traditional diner food.

        Roadside Diner in Wall Twp., Rte 34;

      2. SHEA'S CAFE & Bakery...

        this is located in a strip-mall or if moved...should be nearby RT9/GALLOWAY NJ...google it they may have moved close by...

        THIS PLACE IS LIKE "BEST DINER TYPE I HAVE EVER EATEN IN"...in my life...

        stuff like "Eggs-Benedict...stuff with lobster"...fabulous food... only breakfast/lunch...

        people from NYC even go here when they come down to gamble in Casinos...which are miles away...also worth seeing in this area: the Marriott Golf Resort, and Smithville craft and kid place...those two nearby...this is upscale area of Atlantic County, etc.

        I used to live nearby, etc.
