Where to buy live lobsters (Brooklyn)?
Where would you recommend getting the best bang for buck on some live lobsters. I'm not against paying more for quality but I don't want to be overcharged. I'd like to stay in Brooklyn but am willing to go into manhattan if need be. Thanks!
Jordan's Lobster Dock in Sheepshead Bay may sell live lobsters. Fairway also sells them live. There used to be a place near Kings Plaza on Flatbush, I think it was called Nick's. I don't know if it's still there though.

Yes the Hong Kong Supermarket on 8th Ave and 60th Street. Plus there are many fish places up and down the Avenue.

In terms of bang/buck, only you can know how much buck you want to give for how much bang but...keep you eyes on the online Fairway weekly specials. When they are on, the prices are non-tiered----a 3 lb'er will cost the same per lb. as a 1 1/2. Last week they were, I think, $7 or $8. Last year they got as low as....$6? Can't recall. Canadian lobsters, I believe.

We used to drive to Jordan's (nice large tanks) for ours but, since Fairway opened, we go there. I think that their prices are fine and the quality is very good. Of course, now that Red Hook has the Lobster Pound on Van Brundt, that seems a logical choice as well, although I hear that the prices are high and I havent yet been.

Fish Tales has live lobsters. Doesn't it? Never the best prices, but consistently high quality and great service.

Red Hook Lobster Pound is worth a look. Fairway is going to be cheaper, though.

The fishmonger on Metrolpolitan Ave. in East Williamsburg has them. I think that it is the corner of Lorimer.
