I'd say start with Tuk Tuk. I haven't been in a while, but was there regularly for years. We are lucky to have so many choices in Thai in this 'hood. I can't say that I have tried them all recently. My preference for Tuk Tuk is based on visits to the others made over many years. Things may have changed since...

If you want to have a "live" (hyper) link to a restaurants web site in the body of your post in the future you need to put up a full URL, including the www portion of the address. Here is a place link for Tuk Tuk (which includes a hyperlink to their web site).

I was in Tuk Tuk last Wednesday for the first time and ithe food was disgusting. The lemongrass soup was composed of huge pieces of gunk which were impossible to eat with a soupspoon and had no taste and repellent texture. The egg roll exuded an enormous amount of grease--I'm not averse to grease but this was simply limp with grease. The BBQ chicken was ok. Thai coffee, which I love, was awful. The service was surly. I will never ever go there again and will return to Natalee Thai which I know is not "authentic" but the food is good.

I like Tuk Tuk for its rice, and also for its chili-fish (can't remember the exact name.) The curries are o.k., but chicken can occasionally taste "off". For take-out, I find Natalee Thai quite serviceable --- not great or super authentic, but tasty; (I particularly like the spicy eggplant and malay vegetable entrees.)

I used to enjoy Cafe Talesai on Olympic when I lived in that area.
