Which restaurants are not kid friendly in PDX?

  • 4

Haven't lived in Portland for quite some time but when I did ...all restaurants were pretty much kid friendly. Coming down for the weekend and will have a 6 year old with us. Just wondering if any of the well known higher end establishments are definitely not going to be cool with us having a child that may fuss just a little bit? Thinking of Castagna, Le Pigeon, Beast, etc.. Thanks for the help.

  1. We had a couple of great meals with kids (ages 4 and 12) at Belly Timber on Hawthorne. They do not have a kids menu but do offer some small plates which worked well.

      Fwiw, Belly Timber is closed.

In that space is now Tarboush Lebanese Bistro and Bar...

    2. Not sure Beast is a good choice...there are really no menu choices, no substitutions, no kids menu. You eat what they are preparing that night. The food is good, but unless your 6 year old eats pretty much anything, you will probably not be happy there. We have eaten there several times and have never seen a child there (other than the chef's). Haven't been to the other places enough to comment, but at least they have menu choices.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like Beast is out at least. I don't think he will be eating with us outside of dessert. Very picky eater.
