Coming soon to State Street! The Chubby Olive. I hope they last at least a few months. That was all farmland 25 years ago. Maybe they can help create an absurd foodie culture. I approve!

We went to the Tubby Olive during the Newtown car show (July 17, 2011). I was never tempted to go in before but they had samples and they were fabulous. They have lots of balsamic vinegars, spices and oils to try. We bought the butter oil and the rosemary and lavender aromatic savory salts. They were so good together. They said they often have special tastings on weekends. It is a nice place to go for something different or for a gift. And they use nice gift bags and tissue paper for what you buy.

Sounds interesting. When is this supposed to happen? Where on State Street will it be located?

Actually, it's the Tubby Olive. It's where The Lion and the Unicorn was, so right next door to Mom's Bake at Home Pizza. Btwn Center and Washington. No idea when. Can't imagine they have much equipment to install. Looks like just a bunch of shelves.
