Great Lunch at Cafe Biere (Emeryville)

  • 3

As beer geeks, we have been meaning to make it to Emeryville's Cafe Biere for quite some time, finally making it there for lunch on Saturday. Very tiny place. Maybe eight tables. No bar. There is a small outside area, but they don't have a permit yet to serve alcohol outside. But fantastic food and beer list combination. We had the braised pork sandwich and the lamb burger -- both of which were some of the best renditions of those dishes we've ever had. The tap list is interesting ... had a Ballast Point Big Eye IPA, Lost Abbey Judgment Day (so good on draft), Lost Abbey Carnivale, a couple belgians. All in the appropriate glassware. Very good find.

  1. I'm happy to see them back in business, weren't they closed for a while?

I think they lost their license for a bit, but they are back now.

good to know. Along with the trappist and le trappe they were one of my favorite stops for belgian ales
