Italian Restaurant in Provincetown?

Going out for Italian on Sunday night - looking for good food with an atmosphere that allows for conversation . A person in our party suggested Ciro and Sals or Front Street.

Thanks for your help.

I recommend Fanzinni's for Italian. We used to love Ciro and Sal's but it has gone downhill. Our last meal there was inedible and served stone cold. I guess the microwave was on the fritz.

Ciro and Sal's is a pale and culinarily/socially uninteresting "homage" to a fairly average 1950's Italian restaurant. Front Street, on the other hand, totally rocks. Make reservations weeks/days in advance though.

Thanks for the tip - I never read past Front Street's pricey continental menu to the Italian menu and it looks awesome. Definitely making reservations there!

I always enjoy Sal's Place. It's right on the water on Commercial St. in the West End. Good steak pizzialo, good pastas, nothing spectacular, but good food in a great setting. The spaghettini al burro e formaggio as a side dish, or con funghi are excellent. So's the carbonara. Try to sit outside under the awning if possible.
