Il Cane Rosso Closed?

I heard my favorite pizza place in Dallas closed recently. Any buzz on why or where and when they are going to reappear?

I'm looking forward to my Il Cane Rosso pizza tomorrow night at Times Ten Cellars.

We won't be back at Times Ten til 7/7. We need to relocate our commissary kitchen since being evicted from Chocolate Angel Too!!

Hi all...Yes Cane Rosso is indeed closed at Preston/Forest. It was a very popular and successful spot for us - but the owners of Chocolate Angel ultimately wanted too much control over the business we built, so I decided to shut it down vs. give up the business. We will continue at Times Ten Dallas on Wednesdays beginning 7/7 and we'll add a day at Times Ten FW as well TBD. We will open up a permanent spot...still working on some locations. As CocoaNut said...check out website, Facebook fan page, and twitter feed (@canerosso) for updates.

We really appreciate everyone's support and we will definitely be back.

Jay, I appreciate you keeping us posted on your future plans. I am hoping that when you are able to find a permanent location that you are better able to control quality. I have eaten about 10 of your pizzas over the last several months. I would say that 4 of them were excellent, and the other 6 had issues ranging from being undercooked, to the toppings being out of balance as well as underseasoned. Because of your certified status, and the price of your pizzas I would hope to have a better than 40% chance of a good pizza.

Looks like they're looking into opening a FW location, also at Times Ten.

Last I heard, they are still open on Wednesdays at Times Ten Cellars, and are considering adding additional nights there. And they're looking for a permanent location, but haven't found anything yet.
