Alternative to Costco for meat?

Since Costco doesn't accept anything but American Express and we're down to our credit cards (Mastercard), is there anywhere comparable to buy, say, a whole beef tenderloin (they run around $60 - $90 at Costco)?

Chicken in those huge family packs?

It would be nice . . .

speaking of big bulk stores, does anybody know how does Presto Entrepot compares with Costco and Club Entrepot Provigo in terms of price and selection? I've seen the one on Henri Julien from the outside and it looks so small....

I don't remember if they take credit cards but I usually go to Adonis for tenderloin.
      This week, it's 5.99$ a pound !!

Tough luck... just checked the website : cash or interac. Sorry.

If you don't mind doing a bit of butchering, beautiful and delicious beef filets are on special at Loblaws. The quality of these is quite impressive.

Adonis has 2 grades of tenderloin. The AAA is usually more expensive than the lower grade one.

Not sure about the beef tenderloin, but Loblaws does carry those huge family packs of chicken. And as far as I know, they take credit cards.

I think the deal at Costco was around $25 for around 35-40 chicken thighs. Wow. Can't beat that. I'll see what's happening at Super C and then check out Loblaws. Costco just lost a long-time customer.

Club Entrepot Provigo: no credit cards at all. Just Interac and cash. But it looked good!

              I guess Super C is up next . . .

No problem . . . I wonder what it is with Costco. I don't think a single person I know (except my mom) uses American Express. I know that they're not hurting for customers, but I'll bet they'd be doing a lot better if they accepted Mastercard and Visa.

As for why Club Entrepot doesn't even accept credit cards . . . weird! I guess it must keep costs down somehow.

                  Super C, here I come!

Costco has a promotional tie-in with AmEx.

As for Club Entropot, why give up the 1.5-2% if you're trying to make profit while selling large bulk items at razor margins?

I don't want to be a party pooper but.... the quality of the meat sold at Super C really doesn't compare with Costco's... Costco sells AAA-graded meat, whereas Super C sells... lower quality meat... I tried it a few times because it was kinda cheaper, but I was not impressed.

Does anybody know if all the meat is AAA at costco? I have had excellent meat from there, but i have also had stuff that i did not care too much for.

Agreed, Super C is horrible (and not just the meat), anything else is definitely better.

Is the meat quality good at Club Entrepot provigo? I find Costco has above average quality meat compared to supermarkets.

What about "Super C" (discount supermarket chain of Metro) or equivalent (Loblwas, Walmart, ...) ?

In the summer, I can usually find "family" size packs of chicken, beef ribs, ... at my local Provigo/Metro/...
