Litchfield Beach area - where to eat?

we'll be there for a week with our 2 children (ages 3.5 and 8.5) and will probably grab a few quick bites to eat if anyone has any recommendations?

Then we'll get a date night out one night so looking for a nicer place with great atmosphere for us to enjoy - probably Thursday or Friday night of that week...

  1. I recently had lunch at High Hammock at Pawley's. I highly recommend it for your date night.
Great service, wonderful food in a nice setting.

    1. Date night - top of the line is Frank's. I prefer inside but outside on the patio is also an option. You must have reservations and probably need to make them before you even go down. Check out the web site for Franks and Frank's Outback (which refers to the patio and not the other chain). Also at Litchfield Inn which is at Litchfield Beach, there is a fun place to have lunch. It is out by the pool and you are on the beach. Landolfi's has great wood fired oven pizza to eat in on take out.

      1. I just got back from Litchfield a couple of weeks ago for our annual weekly stay. We've been going for over 20 years and love everything about it.

For fried seafood, Lee's Inlet Kitchen can't be beat. All of the seafood is local and fresh. If you like soft shell crab, they have a fried soft shell crab appetizer that is excellent, and it's fresh. Everywhere else that I asked had frozen crab.

Wahoo's is also very good and the atmosphere is excellent. They serve a strawberry butter with the bread that is to die for. It's the outdoor part of the Devine Seafood House Restaurant. Under the tiki hut is a bar atmosphere, but there are additional tables on varying levels overlooking the inlet. The kids would love that. There is a small island with goats & various waterfowl within site of the tables.

Litchfield Beach Fish House is family oriented (box of small toys as gifts for the kids) and usually pretty good, but over the years at times it has been "off". It's very laid back and "beachy".

Bovine's Steakhouse was excellent this year. Their steaks are cooked over an open wood fire and served with an excellent corn pudding side. It is next to Wahoo's and also overlooks the marsh. Again, outdoor dining is an option kids might enjoy.

Bistro 217 is really good and has lots of food options. The crabcake sandwich is excellent and the outdoor dining is beautiful.

LGD is right...Frank's is worth making arrangements for date night. But I enjoy their outdoor dining (Frank's Outback). It's beautifully landscaped with varying levels of seating and white lights in the shrubbery and trees. My description doesn't do it justice, but it's magical.

        Hope this helps.

        1. Oh...and River City Cafe is a hand-pattied burger joint with all manner of curiosities on the walls. Very laid back and great for kids. The burgers are far above any chain restaurant.

          1. Salt Creek is great and family friendly. The food is upscale in a casual atmosphere.I have never had a bad meal and we eat there A LOT.
I love Lee's Inlet Kitchen!Always a great seafood dinner. I adore the red chowder and hushpuppies.
I do not like River City Cafe.I find the food less than average.
