where to eat near Warfield Theater?

Is there any place good to eat before a concert at the Warfield? We're not picky about the type of food, though a less than huge pricetag would be nice.

Y*lp lists over 1,000 restaurants near the Warfield. You might not be picky, but what are you looking for?

The best places near the Warfield are ShowDogs (on Market Street), just a simple hot-dog place, but top quality, or the restaurants on Mint Plaza (although these will be nicer, sit-down restaurants with higher price tags). There is also TuLan, Vietnamese on 6th Street, and Passion Cafe (also on 6th Street). Just be cautious walking around the area, as it's a bit seedy after dark.

Agree, be careful walking around there. I've never had any problems, but it just doesn't feel like a place you want to linger too long.

Last time before a Warfield show, we had dinner at Farmer Brown on Mason, off Market...good southern-style food, and a lively bar with good 'tenders...

          My order of preference would be # 2, # 1, # 3.

          # 3 is pricey, and is hit-or-miss.

          # 2 is a good customizable burger joint. They also have chicken, lamb and salmon burgers. And good sweet potato fries.

          # 1 is pretty consistent, you know what you're going to get.
