Nashua Chen Yang Li - anyone been since it reopened?

A Couple of years ago I wanted to take an out-of-town friend to CYL and was heartsick to see that the place had a different name. We ate there anyway - the menu was sort of similar so at first I hoped it was the same food but was disappointed. A couple of months ago I noticed that the CYL sign is back. Is the food the same as in the first incarnation? I found that the CYLs in Nashua and Bedford were on a par, and slightly better than Bow.

And while we're on the subject - what happened to make them re-open in Nashua? It's not typical for a restaurant to return to a prior location.

  1. I haven't eaten there, but the Nashua Chen Yang Li is not owned by the same people that own the Bedford CYL.

    1. I've been there a couple of times recently for lunch. I can't say for sure, but I don't think it's the same food that the old CYL served. What I liked about the first incarnation was the creative presentation and how fresh everything was. Now, the food is still good, but not as great as it used to be. It's a step up from the take-out places nearby (98 To Go, for example), but just not as "special" as it was before. I'd put it on par with Lilac Blossom (down the street in Greystone Plaza).

That's what I was afraid of, since the CYL website only lists the other 2 locations.

At least the food is better than the Ocean Garden or whatever it was called before.
