Roosevelt Ave Drinks and ice cream

Jeffsayyes Jun 18, 2010 04:32 PM

I'm trying to get a handle on the drinks of roosevelt ave.
so far, raspados are like snow cones. cholados are like raspados with fruit in it.
there's horchata and tamarind, and a red one...

and what's this very creamy ice cream they sell on the street? it's like whipped cream.
any others you notice? I'm trying to come up with a guide to drinks here.

the red one is jamaica (hibiscus) and the cream is crema, not sure how many natural ingredients are in it because it's out all day and doesn't melt or change.

yeah that stuff is nuclear. there's barely any info on it online other than on EIT.

I've done some more research on the street. Unfortunately, my spanish is very little and the ladies' english is the same. From what we've talked, it's called crema guayava or guayaba. They have a special machine that makes it. It's not dairy. I would love to see it be made. more research must be done.

I would love to be a part of the research.
