summer 2010 best happy hour deals around town

I have not seen a update since Jan 2010 so I wanted to post a update on what is still or is new for the best Happy hour Delios around town. Not just $1 off drinks and appy menus but a good deal with great tasting food washed down by a tasty margarita. wine or beer.

  1. Whisknladle in La Jolla has HH 7 days a week from 5pm - 7pm - tapas for $3 each, $20 pitchers of Sangria, 25% off all bottles of wine, cocktail specials. and their other restaurant Prepkitchen does 'Afternoon Apertivo' - any glass of wine, glass of sangria and a platter of antipasti for only $6 each (in La Jolla and at the new Del Mar location). i haven't been yet, but i'm eagerly anticipating the opening of the Del Mar location since it's near me.

sounds good! Unfortunatly we wont be staying in La Jolla this time as we will be downtown SD and Happy hour wouldnt be as happy with just 1 drink as would be driving

hop the bus, it's cheap and easy.

          Downtown then...

Check The Neighborhood...they used to have a really good happy hour but I am not sure what the days/deals are anymore. They are craft beer and whiskey centric. Cafe Chloe used to have some early specials too. I really love going to Cowboy Star for their happy hour, really good app menu and drink specials, and they make some tasty cocktails.

All of those are "East Village" over by the Ballpark.

Yo, MrK, do you know the hours for Cowboy Star's happy hour? I've been dying to go for a while, but need to plan the trek from my Torrey Pines workplace accordingly.

it used to be 4-6pm...not sure it is during the weekend though

        2. $10 all you can eat mussels at Currant in Downtown is my new goto place. They're also offering this during the day during the noon world cup matches, but only during the match. I can eat two pounds in stoppage time alone. ;-)

Two preparations - a traditional white wine, garlic, fennel and a curry version. Well cooked mussels. Seem to be from Carlsbad Aquafarms.

Other deals as well but I didn't get past the $10 all you can eat mussels...

          1. Se hotel has $20 bottomless wine glass and half off apps till 8.

            Food was actually pretty good.

Place was pretty much dead empty on a Thurs night.
