Gigi's Pizza & Spaghetti House, West Broadway, Vancouver - any thoughts?

I always see this place on my way to Mountain Equipment Co-op. It looks like it might be a good, oldfashioned kind of restaurant. Has anyone been in recent years?

Used to get take-outs or pizza deliveries from them fairly regularly in the late 90's/early 00's. Food was fairly average but predictable and reasonably priced. You are right, they are old-fashioned, at least in the sense of Vancouver's ever-dynamic and evolving tastes. The maitre' d was a super-nice lady (IIRC part of the family) and it was her nice-ness that prolly kept us as repeat customers more than the actual food.

You'd just have to try them out for yourself to judge. I gotta say it's nice to have these "old-"fashioned Italian-Greek pizza/pasta/steak/ribs/garlic bread-with-everything places still sticking around esp. in Vancouver city proper :-)

I like the pizza there....it's old school, greasy, junky, thick crust. Good stuff.

I used to always ask them to cut back on the cheese, and with extra crispy crust.

I've only ordered from there once. We were staying at a hotel just a couple blocks away and were starving one night so ordered a pizza from Gigi's. I love thick, yeasty dough pizza's with lots of cheese and it was right on the money. My husband prefers a thinner crust with less grease, but I have to say that despite it not being his preference...he still thought it was an impressive pie.
