Lunches in Taormina

I have dinner plans firmed up in Taormina for my 5 day trip. I am soliciting advice regarding lunch in town or at the local beaches.

Because we will be eating a full dinner each night, I am looking for suggestions regarding light lunches, not multi-couse affairs.

Thank you.

Enoteche are often good places to get something light plus expand your knowledge of the local wine.

    Here's a list for Taormina:

My favorite place for lunch in Taormina is Ristorante L'Arco dei Cappuccini – Via Cappuccini n°1. Their antipasti, pastas and fish are all good and you dont have to get all courses.

i don't suppose you could share some of your ideas for dinner in Taormina? I am going next month and so far have found it hard to get advice. Looking for somewhere for seafood, a pizza/pasta place and somewhere upscale. Really though, any insight would be helpful - we don't want to waste a single meal whhile we're there :-)

Just returned from Taormina and Rome. I will post a detailed review of Taormina experience on Tripadvisor next weekend. Based upon recs from TA, I ate at Al Sarenco, Principe Cerami, Le Baracoilo, Da Nino (wrong one, per TA),, and Licchios. I found that overall, the food was hit or miss. Every place had at least one good dish, but overall, I was disappointed. I heard that Al Sareno has fantastic pizza (after I visited). The view is great, and the owner is charming. I had the most overall great food at Licchios. If I were to return, I would start at Licchios, return to Al Sareno for pizza, and try the "real" Da Nino (their are 3 within the area, and my concierge apparently booked the wrong one). I would also try the a place that we found randomly for lunch one day, and had some of the best pasta dishes (La Vela on the beach of Giardini Naxos). I cannot recommend Principe Cerami, as they were no better than the other places, except for the pretentiousness and higher prices. I would try the other 1 Michelin starred restaurant in town as well.

Feel free to email me w/ any questions at gjrubino@yahoo.com. I feel like I spent hours reading Tripadvisor and Chowhound preparing for my trip, yet was still surprised by many things in Taormina and Rome.

            glad you reported back.

For future reference, Im just going to add that Gambero Rosso recommends the following places in Taormina: La Capinera (82/56,60 euros),Casa Grugno (86/60, 85 euros ,also Michelin*),Al Duomo (2 gamberi, 35 euros),. Nero d'Avola (74/52, 50 euros). such tourist oriented towns are going to be pretty difficult since so many of their visitors are not locals/return visitors
