West Village dinner for four - we are foodies - all from new york, just out of loop lately on what's new-

Looking for somewhere in the west village for this friday for four. Really wanted to go to minetta tavern but can not get a reservation this late. We all love food and atmosphere very much. L'Artusi is a favorite of ours - so something along those lines would be great or something just completely different and new and amazing that you think we'll be able get a reservation for. thanks in advance for any help :)

Takashi - if you're adventurous enough to eat raw offal...

I really enjoyed my meal, and overall experience, at The New French.
While the service was a bit strange, I loved the food at Corsino; especially the meatballs.
      Have you done Dell'Anima yet?

@foodismylife Perry St is one of the finest restaurants in the neighborhood I have been to. A surprisingly good value, excellent service and (AMAZINGLY) unpretentious. Is such a thing even possible from Jean-Georges? I guess you'll have to go see.

Otherwise (since this is my home-turf), I'd rep Bar Pitti/Da Silvano (adjoining restaurants) which are always super-crowded, but beautiful in the summer, with a splendid view of sixth stretching out into a strange-but-useful extended sidewalk.

Finally, if you're looking for somewhere lower-key, check out Trattoria Malatesta and Christoper and Washington. My pick for best view/down-home Italian cooking. Homemade pastas and a little off-the-beaten trail, great prices. Super-underrated.

Let us know where you go!

A favorite restaurant of mine in the West Village is Wallse (excellent Austrian cuisine).

Try Recette. A few people have posted on it. It's really fantastic. If you do go, please make sure you have the pea soup!

I second Recette. We really liked L'Artusi, but we LOVED Recette.

Perry St. is available at 8 or 9 this Friday. I would grab it.
