End of August in Paris

Is this a mistake? I posted a bit ago about mid september and all the hounders seemd to think everywhere would be open. If we are in Paris august 20-27ish, are we going to run into major problems? thoughts appreciated. thanks!

My practice is to call or ask places I want to go to before the 1st of Sept in late June or July; by then they usually know. The guidebooks are unhelpful for the most part, saying closed 2 weeks of August, for example rather than which weeks.
