soft shell crabs-- in season yet? where to buy?

Anybody seen soft shell crabs for sale at any seafood markets? Preferably near Echo Park, but I'm willing to schlep.

thanks to all who responded. I've discovered that Frankie and Johnny's Seafood on Riverside on the Silverlake/Atwater boarder sells packages of frozen ones- $8.97 for a half dozen.

LAX-C Market a few blocks from Chinatown has the best prices for frozen SS crabs. Various grades and sizes.

Bought them frozen in past from the busy open market in/on Redondo Beach Pier near the arcade (sorry, name escapes me) and Ranch 99 markets. Sorry, may not help you in Echo Park though.

I got them at Fish King in Glendale last week at $4.95 each. They were great.

I got some at McCall's Meat and Fish in Los Feliz, they were excellent, if pricey at $8 each. I've gotten them before at Fish King in Glendale, they were just a little less.
