The Flying Biscuit at Cameron Village has a FGT sandwich and a FGT salad.

There are fried green tomatoes at the farmer's market restaurant.

The state farmer's market at the corner of lake wheeler and centennial parkway. The fried green tomatoes are available during lunch.

thanks so much - living on the other side of the area, I don't know much about Raleigh. Good to know about the restaurant - what a nice perk.

Not Raleigh/Durham, but Acme in Carrboro has a starter of fried green tomatoes with fresh mozzarella. The restaurant has gotten much better in the past 6 months or so.

Had breakfast at the Weathervane yesterday morning, and fried green tomatoes are on the breakfast menu there too. They open at 7 am - not sure when they transition to the lunch menu; probably around 11.

Just had this last weekend at Porter's on Hillsborough:

            fried green tomato b.l.t.
pimento cheese, house smoked bacon, arugula, spicy mayo
            7.00

It was delicious, came with a nice side salad and for $7 was a deal.

Give Watts Grocery a call - it's not currently on the menu, but that doesn't mean it won't be next week (or that they'd be willing to make you some anyway provided they have the tomatoes). http://www.wattsgrocery.com/

The Weathervane also has fried green tomatoes and cheddar cheese eggs on their brunch menu, and the daily lunch menu includes a fried green tomato BLT. http://www.southernseason.com/menu.as...

The BBQ Joint had what I thought were the best ones around. Alas, the tax man closed them down- although I heard a rumor that they may reopen where the wing joint is near Cat's Cradle.
