Good chaat in MSP?
Ever since Bombay2Deli on Central closed, I haven't found a good source for papri chaat or bhel puri here in the cities. Suggestions? What makes chaat good or not so good for you? I'm a big chaat fan, but I don't need Vik's quality (or quantity) - just a place that is fresh, reliable, quick and not too expensive. Yep, I know, I can make it myself, but for me it's street food and I'd like to be able to go someplace and grab a quick nosh.

India Spice House has it on the weekends. I think there food ranks with the better Indian places in MN. http://www.indiaspicehouseep.com/

We went to Curry Up on the way out of town on Christmas Eve. The Countess ordered Bhel Puri (pretty tasty!) and the owner mentioned they do All-You-Can-Eat chaat each Tuesday and Thursday night from 6-9PM. Looking at their poster for said event, there are several varieties of chaat available, $7.99 for adults. I will definitely try that if I get the opportunity.

I miss Bombay 2 Deli.
I don't know a thing about proper papri chaat. However I remember that I enjoyed it when a friend from Delhi ordered it for the table at Sambol in Eagan about 2 years ago. Try Sambol in Eagan if they're still open and still serving it.

So just today I tried the new Indian place in Hilltop. Jalsa is in the same strip mall as Dong Yang (45th & Central). I had their Samosa Chaat. I thought it was OK. Not as good as Bombay2Deli. But it quick and not too expensive ($3.49).
I honestly can't speak to much to the quality, as the only chaat I've ever tried was at Bombay2Deli. But Jalsa's version was close enough that I'll try it again. Their space, by the way, is huge! During lunchtime today, there were only two other customers, one an Indian family. Maybe they fill it on weekends. They advertised a number of weekend specials.
