4 days in Rome

I am in Rome for 4 days in late June. I am keen to devote this visit to hunting down cookware stores and cook books and other such gastronomic pursuits. I am interested in modern and traditional and antique items. I am also keen for recommendations to any particularly good enotecas in and around Centro Storico. Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Bottega Bleve in the old Jewish ghetto is terrific. Great staff, very pleasant and they know their wine--especially Mauricio who is the major domo. The food is also incredible. $15 euros buys you a dinner sized plate of wonderful "bites".

I hate to sound like a broken record, but this blog is quite a resource for the second part of your query. Some simple searching will bring up a bunch of enoteca for you to try:

        I agree - Katie's blog is a super resource!
You could also put Rome Enoteca into the search bar above - it will generate a list of some of the better-known Enotecas in Rome (be sure to expand) - with a map and other info if you look into the entries.
