5 spice powder

Any suggestions on a good 5 spice power and where to get it? I tried McCormick's 5 spice power but I don't really like it.

The brand I've been using is Sun Luck, and it's pretty good - better than McCormick's! I think I purchased it at either Henry's or Whole Foods.

It's easy to make yourself. This recipe is pretty decent. It suggests toasting the whole spices before grinding which will definitely deepen and intensify the flavor

Have you made it yourself? Are you suppose to make it each time you use it or can you store it? Where do you suggest a good place to get the whole spices?

You should be able to find it at any chinese market. They carry it at 99 Ranch in the dry spices aisle. I have a bottle of the stuff with a green cap. Quality wise I don't know how it compares to other brands since I always use it with other ingredients so its flavor is pretty masked.
