Oriental Pearl dim sum

trufflehound Jun 13, 2010 01:01 PM

Decided to try the Oriental Pearl (Framingham) dim sum buffet today. First time in a couple years.
All in all I was pleased with the offerings and the fact that you can serve yourself what you can expect to eat. What i recall and recognize-Fom the cart- Chicken feet, seasoned with 5 spice , not as cooked as I like them. Pork bun, tasty and only have get one. Shrimp and scallop spring roll, quite nice.Shrimp and greens dumpling, very tasty. From the buffet-Pigs ear, crunchy texture and good.Seaweed salad wasn't too good, tasted like leftover cooked greens. Chicken hearts tasty. Tasty spring roll, spinach fried dumpling, turnip cake, s and p shrimp with heads.A delicious fried thing with a hint of cinnamon, shrimp stuffed tofu had no shrimp, but OK. General gaus, standard, rice noodled bland. Desserts just standard fare. Convenient, no parking headache, $10.25 per. Not as good or fresh as Chinatown, but I'll be back.

I have not been to that one in years. Our regular place now for suburban dim sum buffet is Lin Garden in Dracut. Went yesterday in fact.

I like Lin Garden a lot ,but definitely miss the old Ming Garden dim sum buffet+cart in Nashua, Natick/etc. Is there anywhere else in the Merrimack Valley/southern NH with a similar deal to either?
