Hilton Head Seafood - local, fresh, elusive!!!!
We're heading to Hilton Head for our annual family vacation, and surfing the net for great seafood places reminds me of my annual frustration. I can't seem to find great, cheap local seafood places in Hilton Head the way I seem to find in the Northeast. Where is the fresh local seafood - particularly the crab? All the restaurant menus seem to feature snow crab or Maryland crab, when I have been crabbing myself in Hilton Head and I know they have great local crabs. Who goes to the beach to order crab flown in from 1000s of miles away!? Argh!!!
So, someone tell me, where can I order the elusive, super fresh local seafood???
(I already know of Hudson's and the Shack and I have a place to get super fresh local shrimp, but that seems to be the only local delicacy I can find.)
The Black Marlin is located dockside at Palmetto Bay Marina and gets fresh seafood right off the boat open for lunch/dinner serving good fresh Atlantic seafood.
The Black Marlin Bayside Grill @ 86 Helmsman Way # 103, Hilton Head Isle, SC. 843 - 785 - 4950.
Skull Creek Boathouse has outdoor seating and good seafood in casual atmosphere.
Skullcreek Boathouse @ 397 Squire Pope Rd., Hilton Head Island, SC 843 - 681 - 3663.
Hudson's on the Dock's is the oldest restaurant on HHI and serves just about nothing but seafood. Open daily lunch/dinner. Right next door to Skull Creek. Good luck.
