A restaurant in LA that has a private room for my boyfriends 30th birthday

Im looking for a cool place to hold about 20 people. Maybe a pre-fixe menu for about 25$ a person. Even somewhere that would allow us to bring in some of our own bottles of wine. It lands on a Sunday..so that may limit the restaurants

  1. Depending on where you are located I would check with Cafe Cordiale in Sherman Oaks on Ventura Blvd. I know they hve a private room and that they should be able to bring something in around your price range but I can't vouch for corkage.

    Cafe Cordiale
14015 Ventura Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423

    1. if culver city is an option, i'd call Brunello Trattoria... nice private room with good reasonably priced food.

      Brunello Trattoria
6001 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232

      1. what about stinking rose in BH .they have private rooms and they meet your price per person

        1. Luna Park is another possbility. It's on La Brea....just north of Wilshire.

          Luna Park
672 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90036

          1. If you like Korean there is Yong Susan in Ktown which has a variety of set menus. Not sure about the BYOB policy.

            1. I learned yesterday that Baby Blues BBQ in WeHo has a private room - it's pretty cool also. I'm sure they would do a pre-fixe menu within that budget.

You could try Cube (on La Brea/Melrose area), but that may be a bit above your budget.

              Baby Blues BBQ
444 Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA 90291

Private room at Baby Blues is great, although 20 people might be a bit of a tight squeeze - i can't recall exactly. The price is definitely right.

              2. Palate in Glendale has a great private room with a huge communal style table. It's kind of dark and candlelit, with old books and wine bottles lining the walls. I am hoping to have my husband's 40th there next year.

                1. Taylors in LA. i believe on sundays they have a meal for like $33 that includes steak, gulf prawns, and a salad. plus they have a room upstairs. not sure what their corkage is though.

                  1. Pizzeria Mozza has a private room that might be able to do 20, and I think Osteria Mozza has an even bigger one.

Melisse also has a private room that could probably do 20

                    Pizzeria Mozza
641 N. Highland Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036

                    Osteria Mozza
6602 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036

Not for $25 a person. Not even close.

                      1. re: wienermobile

Wow, I totally missed the price per person in the original post. My fault!

                    2. if you are open to thai food,
                      AYARA THAI CUISINE
might be willing to set up a buffet for you in their back room.
dunno how they'd feel about corkage.

                      1. If you are open to West San Fernando Valley locations, I recently had an exceptional meal at Chablis restaurant on Ventura Blvd. near Reseda Blvd. in Tarzana. [ http://www.chablisca.com/ ] The restaurant and side patio areas are quite nice and intimate, but they also have a private room which would nicely accomodate a group of 20. I believe the owner's name is Saede (pronounced "sah-eed" and they should be able to put together a menu in your price range provided that you make separate arrangements for wine and alcohol.

I would also second Hughlipton's recommendation for Cafe Cordiale in Sherman Oaks. Their room is quite nice and airy. However, the food is probably better at Chablis.
