Looking for a restaurant recommendation in Friday Harbor....good seafood or other.

My boyfriend and I will be staying in Friday Harbor for one night (at the Earthbox) and venturing out on the kayaking trip the following day. I'm looking for a restaurant recommendation - is there someplace that is a "must"? This will be our first time visiting San Juan Island and are looking for something that is not too crazy expensive. We are both adventurous eaters, love seafood and would like to experience the best of local cuisine...any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Do NOT miss the grilled oysters at the front of this place. Can;t bet the view and these local oysters are amazing. 65 Front St
The chowder is always great and the staff is local and engaging. The food is well priced for FH and really fresh & simply but well prepared. Say hi to Gerry :)

The Blue Dolphin has good breakfast. The Hungry Clam has good burgers, very inexpensive.

Downriggers is where we eat 80% of our meals when we are there. It's more expensive than where we live but for that area, I think it's very reasonable and everything is good. There's a lot of variety and every year there are a few new things on the menu. The service is always good and the place is always clean. We eat inside but they have a huge deck with tables too. Parking is crazy there. They have like 5 parking places so you'll probably have to park elsewhere and walk there. But that's pretty much the norm in Friday Harbor.

Have a lovely trip, we're headed that way next week. We stay on the cliffs of the west side where we can watch the kayakers paddle by :-)

The Blue Dolphin is gone. We used to have breakfast there waiting on an early ferry. We ate blueberry pancakes at The Hungry Clam instead this year. They were good and huge! I didn't eat again until dinner.
