What to do with Cinnamon Basil???

I found this at the farmers market and planted 4 of them. They have grown like crazy and now need first harvesting. I am not sure what to do with the fragrant and spicy herb. Any suggestions are appreciated.

  1. try making a pesto with some olive oil, garlic, parmesan and a dash of lemon juice (or whatever your favorite pesto recipe is). Since tomatoes are just in season right now where I am I would recommend sliced heirloom tomatoes drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then topped with shredded basil, fresh mozzarella, and some pepper.

    1. Cinnamon Basil works really well with Asian inspired foods. It seems to have a flavor profile very much like Holy Basil, spicy and herbal.
It also works very well with fruits and in drinks. Hmmm, Cinnamon Basil Gimlet??

I love gimlets, will definately give it a try. Gin or Vodka? I prefer Gin.
        Thank you

      2. I did a cinnamon basil strawberry jam this year. It's the first time I've grown it as well. Definitely like it with fruits, haven't tried it savory yet but I'm thinking it would be good with ham or pork. Hmmmm.... I think I'll try making herb jelly with it for use as a glaze. Cinnamon basil glazed chicken. Gotta go cut some!
