Boston Sunday Night Dinner

gdiego Jun 11, 2010 05:08 PM

Will be in Boston this Sunday (13th) and staying at the Intercontinental. Looking for a nice place (North End?) for about $125 (inclusive).
Not fussy on type of food but prefer Italian or Seafood.

North End: Mare (italian and seafood), Prezza's, Monica's (on Richmond's). I really love Prezza's!!! I also like Giacomo's but there is always a long long line, they only take cash and the restaurant is really cramped.

Not sure how familiar you are with Boston but stay away from the tourist traps:

If you are solo or just two people and can get to the North End early enough on Sunday night, Neptune Oyster is where you need to go (note I tried about 9p on Friday night and was told no more names being taken as the wait was already 90 minutes). It's amazing. Prezza is a really good alternate that takes reservations, and you could probably do well with your budget (assuming its for two) at Bricco as well, but I think it's overpriced and not nearly as good as the other two.

Mamma Maria's is my choice for a nice Italian and seafood dinner, hands down.

I beg caution on the Barking Crab recommendations, read the recent thread devoted to this spot.
