Suggestions for a Wedding Venue?

Hi there. Looking to plan a wedding for May 2011 and am having some trouble finding an affordable yet unique venue. Ideally, I'd like a place that is pretty (water views or garden/nature/ nice outdoor grounds), for 150 guests, with good food/alcohol (beer and wine are fine) at under $100 per person. Any chance I can find this in the Outerboroughs?
Thank you!!!

Marina Del Rey in the Bronx. Views of the water and Throng Neck bridge.

Have you tried Steiner Studios in the Brooklyn Navy Yard? Great water/city views and a big terrace is part of the 4th floor space. $100/person may be in the ballpark for their most basic catering packages (but I don't know for sure).

For something 'different', take a look at The Foundry in Long Island City, Queens. It's near the Queensboro (59th St) Bridge, Midtown Tunnel, etc. I came across it while wandering around that neighborhood. While admiring the building, I noticed a wedding party taking pictures. i went online and googled it. I haven't attended or hosted any events there so I can't vouch for it but it's certainly attractive and different. Good luck!

Steiner Studios and The Foundry will definitely NOT land you in the $100 pp zone. I wish had good advice for you, but since I just looked at venues, I can tell you $100 pp isn't going to get you much in New York. You should definitly focus on a cocktail reception to stay in the range. I'd also consider looking at some Staten Island venues.

Try Relish in Williamsburg, great outdoor patio that you could do both the ceremony and reception on weather permitting. Food is good and I bet they will work with you on price.

Steiner and Foundry are going to be too expensive.

Giando on the Water probably works price wise, ditto Water's Edge. You may have to consider a Sunday afternoon.

Galapagos and Bubby's in Dumbo. Neither are traditional venues, but on your budget I'm not sure you can afford more.

          Good luck!

Bubby's quotes around $90 pp; alcohol doubles the price.

Sorry to say under $100 pp with alcohol/beer & wine at a venue that can fit 100+ people is hard if not impossible in NYC. I just did a wedding at $135-145pp at 100-120 people and it was hard to find a good fit. You really do gt to a point where you decide to up the budget, cut the guest list, or go outside of the city, I'm afraid...

You showed the site for Prospect Park, not the BBG. The Botanic Garden, while lovely, is probably the most expensive wedding site in Brooklyn way out of the OP's budget. Prospect Park Picnic House, while less expensive, is still out of the range.

Also just off PP are International Baptist Church and Calvary Cathedral of Praise. I have seen events at both locations, so they may host weddings for non members.

I went to a wedding at the Queens County Farm that I think would meet your qualifications.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden - Beautiful glass hall - May and the flowers are all
blooming - they used to be appx. $100/person. Excellent food.

Try Shi at the LIC Waterfront. Great views of the midtown skyline with an outdoor garden area.
