Dinner on Saturday Night for 3 Guys

  • 8

Looking for Dinner for myself and my two sons on Saturday. Son just moved to Columbia U. area and we are stopping through. We are looking for a place where we can eat some good gastropub food, watch some sports, and have a few good beers (micros preferably). Although wings and burgers are great, we also like things like mussels, salads, and more imaginative pub grub. Youngest is not 21 (he will drink soda), so it must be a place that he can get into. Something in Upper Westside (I know that this is not the best part of Manhattan for selections) would be ideal but we can take subway. Thanks for help on short notice.

Know, however, that this place doesnt take credit cards, last time I looked, anyway. Doubtless someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks like none of this maters anyway, since you posted last Friday and I guess you were talking about the next day.

      2. If you just want burgers you could go to Shake Shack.

NB - Just saw you want TVs also, in which case either of the 2 places mentioned above are good options.

        1. Not much on UWS but Coliseum is only 50 blocks away. Take a cab down Broadway to 58th, have fun, my youngest son wanted to go to Columbia. I went there one time to visit. Beautiful school. Good luck.

          The Coliseum Bar and Restaurant @ 312 West 58th St., New York, NY 212 - 977 - 3523.

          2. I would try 5 napkin burger

            1. PJ Clarke's is a great suggestion, (although I find it pretty overpriced if that matters to you). They have a very good raw bar too.

Not the food type you asked for but I wanted to throw out Dinosaur BBQ which is close to Columbia or Lansky's on Columbus in low 70s, which is a classic deli with nice decor, TVs and $3 beers from 4pm-close. For craft beer Pony Bar on 9th ave in the mid-40s is great but not sure if they will let an under-21 in since its more of a bar than a restaurant.
