Restaurant that serves good seafood but can also accommodate seafood allergies and vegetarians?

Ok, I know this sounds completely ridiculous. It's a long shot, but I thought it might be worth a try.

I want to take my dad out for dinner for father's day next week (he won't be around on the actual 'official day') and he loves seafood, lobster, etc. The complication is that his wife has a seafood (I guess shellfish) allergy (I have seen her eat at restaurants that serve fish/shrimp). The other complication is that I'm a vegetarian (not a pescetarian).

So.....for the longest of long shots....can anyone think of a restaurant anywhere in the GTA that has decent seafood (his standards aren't high - his favourite restaurant is Red Lobster) that can accommodate seafood allergies and vegetarians? Is this completely impossible?

I think Starfish could handle this request. I am allergic to bivales (oysters, etc.) but I have no problem with fish/shrimp/lobster and I have never had any problems at starfish. Your choices as a veggie are probably limited, but I expect you could find something. Malena might be another suitable choice.

Maybe somewhere Chinese like Lee Garden: http://www.leegardenrestaurant.ca/ where you r dad can feast on shrimp, lobster, crab , while you guys have noodles, rice, tofu, veggies, greens (beef/chicken?

I found Malena to be rather meh. I've only been once. I won't be giving it a second chance to redeem itself unless onf of my gf's has a style over substance demand.

I note Starfish has no vegetarian mains on their online dinner menu.

If the standard is Red Lobster, I'd recommend a bridge restaurant such as Rodney's By Bay. Far more casual than Starfish with considerably less sticker shock. It has the same problem as Starfish in that what you can eat is extremely limited. However, if you like risotto it's easy enough for them to serve that sans seafood or at least it should be. One wouldn't introduce the seafood to the rice until all elements are ready.

Unless they make it with seafood stock

Ew. Really? Ew. Why would they? Still, a good question for the OP to ask of them.

To me this request really cries out for Italian. Mistura would be a good choice - something for everyone and a fantastic lobster pasta as well as lots of fish dishes on the menu. Lots of veggie and non-fish choices as well.
