Philadelphia- or custard-style ice creams: Which do you prefer?

Quick poll for which kind of ice cream most people like better. I'm finding that, much to my surprise, I prefer eggless ice creams.

Also, do you prefer some flavors custard-style and others dairy only?


BTW, this is research for homemade ice cream.

  1. Depends on the flavor-I prefer dairy only for chocolate, and usually custard for vanilla based ice creams.

    1. David Lebovitz's Vietnamese coffee ice cream is eggless and outstanding.

      I haven't ventured into making a custard base yet, so I can't weigh in on them yet.
