Looking for good Chinese food in Kelowna!

My fiance and I are getting married in Kelowna and but live in Vancouver and need help looking for a space for our rehearsal dinner/lunch this summer. We're looking for a not too expensive, licensed place that can hold a party of 30-40 people (hence I thought of Chinese). Does anyone have any recommendations? Please do not include all you can eat buffets.
Thank you!

Thank you for the info everyone! Yeah...I would probably rather eat at a cactus club type of place than a "chicken balls and red sauce" chinese place! The wineries are a good option. We're actually getting married at Summerhill and having the reception at Manteo. I've eaten at both those restaurants and know the quality and food is excellent. Just not sure about the price! I will check out Cedar Creek and some of the local restaurants listed below. The original idea was to order platters from memphis blues and host at the house we're renting but with the number of people, it might be tight on space. Anyway, I appreciate the responses!

You really may want to start with the Winery options - while there are some good restaurants in Kelowna, many of them are not open for lunch (Raudz, Waterfront Wines, Bouchons, etc.), and the size of your party would provide challenges for many of them at dinner time as well. As noted above, the quality of Chinese food in the area is uninspiring. The winery restaurants are another matter however, and are accustomed to the kind of event you are putting together. On the east side of the lake Summerhill and Cedar Creek have excellent food in beautiful settings (Cedar Creek is lunch only). Additional options that could work are in two nice Hotels that sit on the lake - the Wild Apple at the Manteo, and the Lakeside Dining Room at the Eldorado.

Lake Breeze is my fave. A small-scale vintner whose attention to detail is not lost to commercialization. Their patio is quaint, the menu is maturing over time, and they even has a cottage for rental.

Check first to see if their patio renovation is done or not.

After you're all tanked up from the wine-tasting, you won't care about finding good authentic Chinese food in Kelowna ;-)

Lake Breeze is a very nice option for something like this, but it does become a bit of a haul from Kelowna - it can take as long as 90 minutes, pending how much traffic you run into on a summer day. But if your guests are willing to travel a bit it does open a lot of options on the west side of the lake - from many wineries that would fit the purpose (Quails Gate, Sumac Ridge, Lake Breeze and Hillside Bistro, with Mission Hill also fabulous but at a difficult price point), to restaurants like Bonfire (West Kelowna), and Local Lounge and Grille (an emerging player in Summerland).

QAW makes excellent points. Pardon my distraction.

And the OP did mention the need to facilitate 30-40 people. Which would be more difficult logistically if the venue isn't in, or very close to, Kelowna.

Here's a recent thread that might give you some leads: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7065...

Maybe something in a winery resto?

Lol, good luck with that especially as you're from Vancouver. The Chinese food is all westernized Chinese places for the most part. You're better off doing more continental/north american cuisine.
