Family Dinner in Portland/Vancouver area

Hello, I am currently a student at UW and I am coming home for the weekend to see my family and we all would like to go out to dinner. I was wondering what is a great place to go that has a nice ambiance. I guess you can say family friendly, but not something that is good for a family with 3 5 year olds.

I am also looking for a great sushi place in the same area. Thank you!

  1. So you want someplace that would be good to take your family, but your family doesn't include children? Laurelhurst Market would be my go-to stop to make meat and potatoes eaters as well as serious chowhounds happy. I think Nostrana also works for me because they have a fairly wide variety of food, from good pizzas to substantial entrees (and since they take reservations it might be a little easier than Laurelhurst Market).

I'm liking Bamboo Sushi on SE 28th.

      Thank you very much!

    2. Did you mean to say THREE 5-year-olds?

If so there is a current thread on this:

Lol no I was saying I was looking for a place that's not for a family with three 5 year-olds, but more of a family of adults.

      2. I would also add in Red Onion and Pok Pok if you're interested in Asian food (either one takes reservations if you have more than 4-6 people). Le Pigeon and Clyde Common would also be excellent choices.
