Lunch Around the Langham Hotel?

  • 4
  • Share

My wife is going to be tied up with wedding rehearsal stuff and I am left on my own for lunch on Saturday. We are staying at the Langham Hotel and I would like to know any cool, low key spots to have lunch. Any type of food is welcome but I would prefer something more on the casual side. I plan to walk up to Churchill's Lounge for a smoke so anything inbetween the Langam and Churchill's is also alright.

Thanks in advance...

  1. During the week, I'd recommend a slight detour to Downtown Crossing to Chacarero or Sam Lagrassa's. but they are close on the weekend. The Rock Sugar Thai Cafe is open for lunch on Saturdays and is decent, but not special. I've also had lunch at Bond in the Langham Hotel. The space is really something special, but the food was ordinary (but not bad) and expensive. If you're walking to Churchill's Lounge you could have lunch at Faneuil Hall although I can't really think of any place special there, unless you like Wagamama. Unfortunately, you're in a tough area for good food on the weekend; I wish I could come up with some better ideas.

    1. Langham is in the middle of the Financial District and a lot of places close for the weekend.

2 options on State St that are open for lunch are Sultan's Kitchen and Al's Sub Shop..both good choices.

Fanieul Hall..best bets are Salty Dog or Kingfish Hall.

Oh, if Sultan's Kitchen is open on Saturday, that's almost a no-brainer! I just assumed that it wouldn't be open on weekends.

Since I am having Turkish food the night before, it looks like Al's is the winner. I checked the website and it looks like it will fit the bill. I completely forgot that the financial district shuts down on the weekends.

          Thanks again...
