World Cup snack suggestions?

The World Cup starts tomorrow, and here in South America everyone is crazy about it, clearly. Any suggestions for snacks from some of the less culinarily-known nations? I lived in South Africa for a while but there's hardly anything that comes to mind to eat while watching a game (except beer and braai, of course). Ghana? Ivory Coast? Slovakia? Algeria? Thanks!

  1. And here in Europe, of course.

Algeria might be a "dessert snack" in the form of some dates. Potato pancakes for Slovakia?

    1. the English like a good old English breakfast (sausages, bacon, fried eggs, baked beans, toast or fried bread) and a beer of course or tea if it's too early for beer although I have seen football supporters drink beer at 5am at the airport before going to a European match!

for snacks - same old same old, crisps (chips) and of course more beer, pizza delivered, or take out curry.

      1. I get Pappadums in a tube at CostPlus World Market sometimes. I don't know how much of a snack food it is, but maybe you could do something with bobotie. Maybe a curried bean dip as well.

India are not in the World Cup - I think the OP was trying to match countries in the WC with their foods!

I should have clarified, The pappadum actually come from an English company, either Sharwoods or SAI. (So technically they represent England)
