Sarah's Forestville Kitchen?

Sarah's Forestville Kitchen is the new girl in town. It's located in the "downtown" of the tiny hamlet of Forestville in Russian River Valley. Open for breakfast and lunch and featuring wood-fired breads from neighboring Nightingale, it's getting raves from my friends in the area. How do the 'hounds like it?

  1. I see I'm about a year and a half late in getting a reply to you, but Sarah's is pretty decent, to say the least. Between Aioli and Sarah's, it's a toss-up. I tend to favor Aioli b/c they are not cash-only.

You can get an AMAZING grilled veggie sandwich at both places (hard to decide which I like best), the burger at Sarah's is apparently REALLY good (as well as at Aioli), and while I tend to appreciate things like good customer relations, I have to say that's where Sarah's lacks. When you frequent an establishment, do you not begin to expect some kind of recognition, or acknowledgement from the owner(s)? I do. And maybe that's MY shortcoming... But I kinda think not, especially in these tiny towns where restaurants really struggle.

I work in Forestville and this year my employer is hosting our xmas luncheon at Sarah's. It will be interesting to see how they do! I have faith that everything will be delicious.

Oh, and their peanut/tomato soup, while it may not sound instantly appealing, is absolutely heavenly!

Their open-faced egg salad sandwich with truffle oil is also supreme.

Hopefully by now you've come to know their food and quality. If you're a local, it's your moral responsibility, after all! ;)

Welcome to Chowhound! Thanks for reporting in on Sarah's. I had quite a good breakfast there in the early going and can recommend the corned beef hash. Here's the post,

Wonder how the dinner service fares?

        Hi Melanie,

Do they do dinner... ?? Their hours are spotty and seemingly unpredictable, probably due to the economy.

I don't get into town early enough for breakfast. I did give both my bosses gift certs to Sarah's last year for xmas, and they would have breakfast there often.

Their website says dinner Thursday-Saturday, brunch Saturday-Sunday. Is that not accurate?

I couldn't tell you. Their hours seem irregular. You'd be better off to call. They're probably open now...
