Any recommendations? Bonus points for barbecue or fried chicken, but it's not a prerequisite. Thanks in advance.

Spelunker's is a nice drive in but you can dine in. No BBQ or chicken but burgers and ice cream.

    Spelunker's Drive In @ 116 South St., Front Royal, VA 540 - 631 - 0300.

No local BBQ closet bet is Stephens City.

    Butcher Block BBQ @ 131 Town Run Lane, Stephens City, VA 540 - 869 - 4141.

Cracker Barrel fits the bill just fine if you don't mind a chain. Also, Jalisco is casual, Mexican, and child friendly. Were I going to Stephens City I'd be inclined to go to Roma's instead of Butch Block, unless you are pining for buffett. Have never been to Spelunker's.
