Dinner Near Design Exchange

Hi CH-ers - I am headed to the Design Exchange for a mid-week event and want to go for dinner after. Can you recommend any good places nearby that aren't too expensive (ie, Canoe is out of our price range for the night)? My SO is not that crazy about Chinese or Japanese options but other than that we are open. Suggestions?

Beerbistro, Harlem, The Wine Bar and Biff's are all within walking distance and good choices for solid food that isn't uber-pricey.

Ooh, and Origin is also within walking distance and one of my favourite spots in the city right now.

As soon as I posted I thought about Beerbistro -- but now that you mention these other places, I think I might try one of them. Origin looks great. How is the food at Harlem? Do these places have a decent wine or beer list?

Beerbistro will have the strongest beer list of the bunch, obviously. Harlem probably has the weakest wine list. The Wine Bar shines with their wine list, for obvious reasons. But Origin has a smallish, but very nice wine list. The food at Origin is a few steps above the others on this list and is a fun place to share several dishes with your SO. Harlem is great if you are in the mood for comfort food, as it has a strong soul food and Cajun food bent.

Here's a long thread with lots of reviews of the food at Origin:
