Late-Night Under 19?

  • 9
  • Share

As someone under-age I'm constantly looking for late-night eats that aren't in bars or pubs. I go to Vesta Lunch pretty regularly (George definitely make's the shitty food worth it) and I've been to Fran's, Smoke's and The Green Room a few times, but I find them disappointing for the most part. Does anyone have suggestions for a place to get some grub at 3 a.m. where you won't get scathing looks if you're under-age and/or not paying for drinks?

Thanks!

  1. 7 West cafe on Charles St. just southwest of Bloor/Yonge is open 24/7 and while they do serve liquor they are also known for coffee drinks and desserts. They have things like pasta, sandwiches, burgers, etc. and an all day/all night breakfast on the menu, but I've never personally tried them. So long as you order some of those things and aren't with a mob of unruly teenage hooligans I doubt they'd bat an eye. http://www.7westcafe.com

    2. If downtown, many pho places are open late.
      Pho Pasteur is 24 hour.
North York is tricky, mostly korean places, like Minerva Owl, and fast food.

      1. Swatow....shrimp and Lobster sauce at 3am....perfect.

        1. How about:

Commisso Brothers & Racco Italian Bakery

          (416) 651-7671
          York
          8 Kincort St

I've never been but I understand it's a 24 hour Italian food joint that sells veal sandwiches at all hours of the day and night. Ya gotta like that, right?

          1. Lakeview is open 24 hours also.

            1. In the King West area, Lou Dawg's at King and Portland is open until 4am on weekends. Reggies sandwiches, which is in the same vicinity, is open 24/7. Even if you are not drinking you can experience late night eats with those who have been - this could be good or bad depending on your perspective. Both have fairly decent food.

Just a note - although Reggie's says on their website they are 24/7 when I walked by at 6:30am they were closed. Probably best to call before a super late night visit to make sure they are open.

              2. Nobody'll be serving booze (legally) at 3am anyway, so anyplace that's open should be welcoming, no?

Lots of places in chinatown, especially on the weekends.
