Al Wazir equivalent in the SF Valley?

Moved from Hollywood to the Valley 2 years ago, still haven't found a local place to satisfy the Al Wazir craving. Zankou doesn't quite cut it. Any suggestions?

Al Wazir was my lunch spot for years so I know what you mean. Carnival, as mentioned, is very good and so is Pita Hut just south of Ventura on Van Nuys blvd. More similar in terms of restaurant style is Amir's Falafel on Ventura Blvd and Colfax in Studio City.
I would be surprised if one of these did not satisfy your craving.

You might like Golden Chicken, I've only stopped there once but it was pretty good.
