Is the Holy Grail Pub in Plano a good place to watch the match Saturday?

  • l

Beer selection (and serving frequency!) being more important than food on this rare occasion. Snacks/appetizers are more likely than entrees.

  1. I thought this was a good list of places to watch the World Cup:

    1. I would join yas, do you have my number?

      1. Actually I'm pretty sure I haven't seen a TV there, so you should call first. In case they don't, the G-man definitely does not have a TV, so I'd go with Fillmore if you want to stay to the north.

yea I didn't think Gingerman would, sad that a "pub" wouldn't have a TV for soccer but I guess that's how it goes. Filmore was going to be my next option anyway but their draught list isn't all that exciting.

DD I will check to see if I have your number.

Grail does have tv's. you in air?

        2. you may want to check out Rugby House. I rotate between there and Holy Grail when looking for a decent beer in NW Plano.

I'm sure Trinity Hall on 75 in Allen will be packed. The Fillmore is more my style but I think Trinity Hall is a little more spacious in their bar area and should be a good option for those wanting to watch the World Cup.

I have never been in the Holy Grail, I saw it driving down Preston a few weeks back and made a mental note to try it but have not done so yet.

Thanks for the link to the Rugby House, I didn't even know it existed.

Holy Grail was crowded but a great atmosphere and a pretty good beer selection. Tried one of the fried goat cheese balls. Nice light & crispy crust, liked the tomato jam too - nothing super exciting but at least shows real effort. Rugby house sounds like a good option also, they mentioned they'd be setting up a big screen for the match.

          2. anybody been to the Filmore for any of the games? I like it as a bar/pub but I'm not sure if they have a whole lot of TVs.

I've not been to Filmore to watch any games, but I've been going to Kelly's Eastside for most of them. They've been opening at 9am for the games, and are serving breakfast while the World Cup is going on. Good food, lots of TVs.
