Ontario Distillery

Kooper Jun 8, 2010 12:24 PM

I recently came back from Niagara Falls for a wine weekend and I realized that it only has wine. There are a few other 'wineries' that have fruit wines that were really good but it got me thinking that I have never been to a distillery. Does anyone know of a distillery that offers tours and tastings in southern Ontario or on the 401/416 to Ottawa?

I haven't been there yet, but Kittling Ridge offers a tour that includes both the wine and distillery portions of the operation, and all products are available for tasting.

STEAM WHISTLE BREWING CO, 255 BREMNER BLVD, Toronto, Ontario M5V 3M9‎ - (416) 362-2337‎, in the CN Tower/Metro Toronto Convention Centre/Roger's Centre/Air Canada Centre area.

Yup, Kittling in Grimsby is where they distill Forty Creek whisky, which has become my fallback for a cheaper mixing whiskey over the past few years.

Also, Steam Whistle is a beer brewery, not a distillery.

I don't know if you will be in Windsor Ontario by Hiram Walker's Distillary...the home of Canadian Club offers tours. there are also tours of several wineries in the Essex county including Pelee Island wineries.
