Just wanted to get some recommendations for places near the Hilton Gardenview...three girls from Boston coming to Nashville.....any place reasonably priced would be great....any place we shouldn't miss??

  1. There is no "Hilton Gardenview." There are, however, two Hilton Garden Inns, one in midtown and one at the airport, plus a couple in various suburbs. Which one are you referring to? Also, what type of food are you interested in? "Can't miss" means a lot of different things to different people. How far are you willing to travel? Will you have a car?

You are totally right...its the gardenview in midtown. We are looking for quintesential Nashville cusine...something we couldn't get in Boston. We won't have a car though.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything in the West End/Midtown area that you couldn't get in Boston. Most of the unique Nashville places are a little off the beaten path, and you really need a car to get to them from where you'll be staying.

    2. Boundry Cafe is open for dinner only is nice with a great bar and outdoor seating. It's 3 blocks from your hotel. They are cigar friendly though. It is casual elegant and gets nice reviews around town.

      Boundry Cafe @ 911 20th Ave. South, Nashville, TN 615 - 321 - 3043.

Midtown Cafe gets some good reviews. They own Sunset Grill and Cabana which are also nice restaurants. Mid Town is a couple of blocks from your hotel but they have a free shuttle. Open lunch/dinner 7 days/week. Sunset is not far away either. It's just other side of Vandy Campus. SS and MT both are casual fine dining.

      Midtown Cafe @ 102 19th Avenue S., Nashville, TN 615 - 320 - 7176.

      Sunset Grill @ 2001 Belcourt Ave., Nashville, TN 615 - 386 - 3663. * I440/EXIT1A/3.

The Acorn is a fun place with outdoor dining back a little W of your hotel. Probably need a cab.

I have not been but The Patterson House gets some good reviews here and it's across the street from your hotel. It's a high class bar open late with gourmet bar food. Go by for a drink and late night fun.

      The Patterson House @ 1711 Division Street, Nashville, TN 615 - 244 - 7989.

      Have a great trip.

      1. The Patterson House is indeed a great place to get a fancy cocktail. I recommend arriving early in the evening, as it gets super crowded later at night.

Noshville Deli is great for giant breakfasts and deli sandwiches. There can be a little bit of a wait for breakfast/brunch, but not nearly as bad as the Pancake Pantry around the corner, where people will wait 1-2 hours for PANCAKES.

On 21st in Hillsboro Village, there is Fido which is a nice coffee shop/restaurant with great cake (and locally-roasted coffee).

If you walk over to West End, Blackstone Brewery has some good local brews and decent food. I'd stick with burgers/fish and chips sort of thing.

I'll second the Bound'ry recommendation and add their sister restaurant, South Street, as solid choices.

If you're coming this weekend, be warned that it's CMA Fest and everywhere might be crowded. Enjoy!
