Cuban Sandwich and Dives...

Staying in Sobe over the weekend.

Looking for the best Cuban sandwich mid Sobe, and also any other divey authentic, local places to eat. Cheap is good. Any local flavor would be great.

Cuban Sandwich @ Puerto Sagua Restaurant? Or where?

  1. You are correct on the cuban.

El Chalan and Mirago are also very good places to eat. El Chalan is peruvian and Mirago is Dominican. Though not local flavor I would not miss the Philly Cheese Steak at Alibi (opens after 5 -- cupcakes are great too) or almost anything at Martarello. PS ignore the link at the bottom for el chalan. The one in south beach is on 16th and washington.

I had a group of people who tried three Peruvian restaurants during their stay in Miami:

      El Chalan
      Limon y Sabor
      Ceviche 105

Their favorite was Ceviche 105 and after my experience with El Chalan, I probably would agree. When I went to El Chalan, they served stale Cuban toast for complimentary starter, food was greasy, and not all that great (and the service & ambience doesn't make it even worth the return - you can get better ambience and food at the same price at Ceviche 105 in downtown).

Oh and the Dominican place is El Milagro I think. Or just Milagro or Milagro's. I haven't been.
