Matunuck, RI and surrounding areas

Hi all,
I am looking for a good clam shack or casual seafood restaurant in/around Matunuck RI. Any and all suggestions would be great!

  1. I'm a huge fan of the Matunuck Oyster Bar on Succotash Rd (the road leading to East Matunuck State Beach, across the street from Cap'n Jacks). Gorgeous outdoor patio on the salt pond. Their own oysters and a huge menu.

I second Matunuck Oyster Bar...You can even take a tour of the Oyster farm...can anything be better than a "farm to table" oyster?!?

You can't go wrong with the Matunuck Oyster Bar. Yum......

      2. Matnuck Oyster Bar is great, but do also go to Tara's Joyce Family Pub, right on the beach while you are there. Irish pub food, a la american, great people, right on the beach. Music every night. Always a party.

            Have to agree...Matunuck is wonderful.

Might be the best Fish and chips I have ever had

        2. A bit further east, we like Champlains in Galilee, Spain south of Scarbourgh Beach and a Chinese place in Narragansett.

Ocean View chinese? This place is a hidden gem - crazy menu, with a selection of dishes I have never seen on a chinese food menu. It's a 2-person operation - the chef, and a quirky woman at the front of the house... Cash only.

Not seafood, but since chinese was mentioned...

          2. Captain Jacks is GROSS - stay away! Similar post a little while back....

Jim's Dock - a BYOB at the end of Succotash Rd (by the state pier) - it's a cash only place. Great view and food is good. You also might like Aunt Carrie's in Narragansett (also BYOB) - it has great homemade cinnamon bread, pies, and great seafood. If you just want clam cakes and chowder, right next door to Aunt Carrie's is Iggy's.
