Charlie Palmer Steak "Cut of the Week"
Last summer we posted about the "Sunday Supper" put together by Steve Blandino at Charlie Palmer Steak (Four Seasons/Mandalay Bay), and the combination of both good food and a favorable price point that it brought. While the Las Vegas economy now has the restaurant dark on Sunday's, there is a new concept in play during the week, and after trying it for the first time last week it is worth a mention. Each week they choose one particular cut of meat and turn in into a multiple-course menu, with a "bottomless" wine pairing for the first two courses. At $48 it is an extremely good value, especially since these are full dinner portions - if you price out the food separately, it is close to being unlimited wine, gratis. Last week we got to try a 12 once prosciutto-wrapped pork tenderloin, served with marinated grilled apricots, which was a terrific salty-fatty-sweet combination that was well thought out. This week's menu just hit the e-mail box -

re: sparkareno
Don't miss it. But also ratchet down the expectations too! Just type in "Charlie Palmer cut of the week Las Vegas" into your google search and it will come up. The food was great when we went and the wine was good. Is is 1982 Latour? No. It's generally $15-$35 per bottle retail wines. Is it a 21-day prime 24 oz. NY Strip? No, but it is very good. All for $60 (yes it's $48 but throw in tax and tip and you get $60). And drink as much as you want...but remember the lesser quality wine hangovers are generally worse. Trust me.

re: kel
Was in Vegas last week and tried the 'Cut of the Week" at Charlie Palmer Steak. I highly recommed this to everyone. The food was delicious, the atmosphere exceptional and the staff friendly and accomodating. The portions are very generous, last weeks main course was a 8 oz filet and giant prawn. Also the addition of the bottomless wine pairing with the 1st and 2nd course is a nice touch. One of the best values on the strip....don't miss it!
